Joseph Carrillo is a composer living and working in Los Angeles. Most recently, his piece Across An American Sky was one of ten chosen from more than a hundred submissions to be performed by The Orchestra Unleashed for their fall concert September 11 and 12, 2010. In 2009 he was commissioned to compose fanfares for the Special Olympics 2009 World Winter Games, which were performed by the Boise Philharmonic at the Opening Ceremonies held in Idaho. He has completed work on The Darkling as both composer and supervising sound editor for director Adam Hodge. He has done parody work for Benny and Rafi Fine, better known on Comedy Central and YouTube as TheFineBrothers, including the famous Lost Parodies, Kung Fu Grip for the Escapist Magazine, and MyProfileStory, which aired on Comedy Central as part of Atom TV.
Several late nights contributed to the completion of Joseph's first feature-length film, The Hanged Man for director Neil Weiss, now available on DVD. An intense and extremely rewarding collaborative process with the sound designers, mixers, and producers, under the supervision of Cece Hall, led to a great sounding product.
He has also completed scores for Coach, directed by Chris Hampel, Captive for director Adam Hodge and Dead Line for director Carolyn Townsend. Dead Line was a particularly notable experience for Joseph, being his first film score recorded with a professional LA orchestra.
Joseph is currently working on a new album which will be available through iTunes in early 2011.
