Watch the episodes on YouTube.com.Some feel that no subject is safe from ridicule. The Fine Brothers are two such upstanding people. I have laughed until my face hurt many times in my life, yet hanging out with these two causes tendons on the back of my skull to ache from laughter. They are seriously hilarious, twisted, and wonderful people.
When Benny called me up to explain the situation with the skit, he explained that it needed music to accompany the song, and that the song had already been recorded. This proved a challenge, since the singers didn't really stick to a tempo or to a specific pitch center. So the music had to follow them wherever they went.
For anyone who hasn't cruised over to YouTube to check out the videos, then you probably aren't aware this is a satirical slant on a Sesame Street-like scenario where the hosts are pedophiles. Since the subject matter beneath its candy-coated exterior is so revoltingly dark and creepy, I used the most sinister instrumentation I could muster: bassoon, contrabassoon, bari sax, bass and contrabass clarinets, bass trombone, tuba, two celli and a bass. The piano primarily plays in the lower register, and the rhythm section is topped off with some assorted percussion. And of course, no comedy is complete without a xylophone (in all its crispy, cold awkwardness).
